Cellar Anniversary

Hello! Can you believe it has been eight years since The Side Project Cellar opened on November 11, 2014? Back in the Fall of 2014, Cory was working nights and weekends building our draft system, our draft cooler, the beer cellar, etc… trying to get our little spot ready while I was traveling across Missouri and Kansas selling beer. Thank you to everyone who showed up that very first day we opened to celebrate with us! Let’s celebrate again this year – ALL WEEK LONG! Let’s do it! Here’s our schedule of tappings:

FRIDAY, NOV. 11TH
THE DEBUT OF DOUBLE BARREL DERIVATION MIZUNARA OAK!

November 11th is our actual Anniversary! We are thrilled to announce that we’ll DEBUT on-site bottles of Side Project Double Barrel Derivation Mizunara Oak at The Side Project Cellar, Side Project Brewing and Shared Brewing. Double Barrel Derivation Mizunara Oak is our first foray into some of the more exotic woods available to age spirits and now beer in. As most of you know, we have a great friend in Drew Kulsveen from Willett, and he offered up his only 2 barrels of this Japanese Oak for us to Double Barrel Age Derivation in. Mizunara Oak is one of the rarest and most expensive oaks in the world. Drew used this Japanese Oak barrel to finish a special project, then allowed us to have them. We chose 2 oak barrels of our O.W.K. recipe which were laid in Willett 6 year Family Estate Bourbon Barrels on June 10th of 2020. On December 6th of 2021, Double Barreled the 18 month old stout into the Willett Mizunara Oak casks for their second aging and finishing.

SATURDAY, NOV. 12TH
JOIN US FOR ANNIVERSARY PARTY DAY!

We are closing part of Marietta Avenue from 12pm to 6pm! The Side Project Cellar will be OPEN Indoors & Outdoors from 12pm to 6pm on Sat, Nov. 12th. NOTE: All beers sold Outside will be CASH ONLY. (The indoor bar will operate just like normal! You can open a tab or pay in cash just as you normally would. Outdoor beers will be Cash Only.

12pm: SP 7 Candles Tapped indoors - Cash & Card accepted. Also tapped outdoors - Cash only.
2pm: SP 8 Candles Tapped indoors - Cash & Card accepted. Also tapped outdoors - Cash only.
4pm: The DEBUT of SP 9 Candles Tapped indoors - Cash & Card accepted. Also tapped outdoors - Cash only.
We will also be pouring more delicious beers indoors and outdoors. You might just see Cory walking around with a Magnum!

The Side Project Cellar will be open special hours 12pm to 6pm on Saturday, Nov. 12th. (Our Side Project Brewing Tasting Room will be Open regular hours 1pm to 8pm. Shared Brewing will be Open regular hours 12pm to 10pm.)

We thought we would end this special week with some gratitude for all of our dear friends in the brewing industry and everyone who has helped us grow our little brewery – Our Staff, Customers, Families, Friends, Everyone! Thank you!!
